WNY's GLBT Community celebrated its heroes during its annual Gay Pride Parade.
WNY's GLBT community gathered to celebrate its pride with its annual Gay Pride Parade down Elmwood Avenue to Bidwell Parkway. This year's events include the annual Dyke March on Saturday and the annual Gay Pride Parade on Sunday followed by various speakers and musics at Bidwell Parkway. Parade marchers included several elected officials and candidates including Mayor Byron Brown, Congressman Brian Higgins, Senator Antoine Thompson, Assemblymember Sam Hoyt, Family Court Judge Lisa Rodwin, Councilmembers Michael LoCurto and David Rivera, County Legislator Maria Whyte and Senate candidate "Baby" Joe Mesi. Crystal Rodriguez, executive director of the Buffalo Commission on Citizens Rights and Community Relation, marched along with several commissioners.
